Cotswold engagement photographer captures
Frankie & Richard’s sunset portraits
It’s fair to say the weather was certainly on our side for Frankie & Richard’s engagement shoot. Before each shoot, I send over a list of location suggestions that my couples choose from. Including some, I already know and some I’m itching to try out. But with this shoot, my list was utterly useless. “Can we have our shoot on the family farm?” Um yes, please!
Having already visited Richard’s family farm to capture his sister’s engagement photos AND autumn wedding. It was a real pleasure to be invited back. It was autumn the last time I was over at the farm, so the warm spring light was a real boost for my creative spirit.
Having had our blue-eyed border collie for going on 8 years now. I love it when my couples bring their playful pups with them. On a wedding day, you’re busy enjoying catching up with your loved ones. So it’s really easy to forget I’m there. When it’s just us in a field, not so much. But we do get a chance to catch up and chat in a way that just wouldn’t be possible on a wedding day. And come away feeling like friends. Having your dogs with you on your engagement shoot is a really handy distraction too.
That being said, after an hour with these gorgeous bouncy doggos I’m very relieved I’m not a sports photographer! I was so over the moon to hear that Frankie & Richard love their photos. It’s always so nice to hear that, especially as so many of my couples aren’t used to being in front of the camera.
During the spring and summer months, we can head out early evening. And get relaxed and natural photos with the most incredible golden light. Without having to take any time off work!
