What is Candid Wedding Photography?
During the wedding planning process. You’ve likely come across phrases such as documentary wedding photography, relaxed, natural, or candid wedding photography. So many different phrases and terms can be a little confusing. But it’s worth remembering these all describe the same thing.
Candid Wedding photography is a snapshot of a natural and unstaged moment in time. It’s a term used to describe photographs that are captured in the moment. They’re usually the photographs you had no idea were even taken.
For example, if you’ve been at a wedding I’ve photographed recently. Candid photos are the ‘ninja photographer’ shots. These images are captured as I weave through the guests and pop out just at the right moment.
Without a doubt, it’s the natural photos that have always been my favourite. Because they tell the story of a wedding day as it happened. Without having to perform for the camera. This means your photos are about your wedding, not the other way round.
