A Humanist Wedding at home in The Cotswolds
Today I’m sharing some of my favourite frames from a very special wedding indeed. Tim & Michelle’s beautiful humanist wedding took place in their garden at home. A relaxed day that started with the official paperwork being signed at the local registry office with a handful of their loved ones. Meeting their guests in their garden. Where they shared a beautiful humanist ceremony. During which their loved ones were invited to join them in throwing a wishing stone into the river that flows through their garden.
Tim & Michelle’s day was overflowing with beautiful blooms. Tying the knot under an arch wonderfully styled by Stroud Florist, Thistle by Nature.
I feel super lucky to be a Cotswold wedding photographer. Surrounded by special places that make a wonderful backdrop to any wedding. When I first spoke to Tim & Michelle they told me so passionately how their home was their favourite place in the world. So it suited them perfectly to have a humanist wedding in their garden at home.
After the vows, Tim & Michelle along with their guests took part in a pebble toss. The pebble toss is a Celtic wedding tradition in which guests are invited to take a pebble. And after adding their blessings and wishes for Tim & Michelle, throw the pebble into the river that runs through their garden.
After the ceremony, everyone walked down to meet the vintage bus (aka party bus). Which took us to the reception at The Old Lodge on Minchinhampton common. Having lived in Nailsworth I know the common gets some of the most beautiful sunsets! Perfect for some quick portraits.
