Todd & Phoebe’s Lords of the Manor Wedding
A bright summer’s day starts with an intimate ceremony at Cheltenham College Chapel. Followed by relaxed afternoon drinks and celebrations with a handful of their loved ones at Lords of the Manor in the Cotswold countryside. *insert noise of a record screeching to a stop*
But before I tell you more about Todd & Phoebe’s beautiful micro wedding. I must tell you about the events surrounding their day. Because it’s clear this wedding could have been anywhere and anyhow. And ultimately still so very full of joy. Todd & Phoebe’s day really is an extraordinary tale, fit for a novel.
Cheltenham College Chapel Ceremony
It’s fair to say, few people if anyone, anticipated the events that unfolded at the start of the pandemic. Our lovely bride Phoebe was visiting family overseas when the borders were closed. It wasn’t until almost 18 months later that a jet-lagged bride to be landed back in the UK. From chartered flight, to chapel all in the space of 48 hours. Todd & Phoebe were finally reunited. And better yet, married.
With thousands of miles in between them, Todd took the lead when it came to wedding planning. And what a wonderful day he planned too. Phoebe’s family stayed up all night so they could tune into the ceremony live stream. Her dad even managed to stay awake long enough to give his speech over zoom. I’ve loved seeing how technology has helped keep us all connected recently, and I’ve been so grateful for it in recent months.
I’ve photographed lots of micro celebrations this year but this was my first time capturing a Lords of the Manor wedding. It’s such a lovely little venue, tucked away in a Cotswold village. And they cater really well to intimate weddings. I’d love to be back there so do get in touch if you’re planning to get married there.
