THE BEST OF 2016

What can I say? 2016 has been an incredible year. As the year draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting back on this whirlwind of a year we’ve had. And wanted to share with you what we’ve been up to. Not only have we photographed some amazing weddings, we’re lucky enough to now call some of our wonderful couples friends.

In addition to this, our commercial clients have commissioned us for some huge advertising campaigns. Being some of our biggest commercial projects to date. Whilst several independent designers and Yorkshire Life Magazine have also commissioned and published our work. With lots of blog features from the lovely folk over at Rock n Roll Bride, Love my Dress and Boho Weddings rolling from this year into next too.

GIVING BACK
Most recently I was asked to be West Yorkshire’s regional Judge for the Through the Lens Photography competition. Meeting and speaking to the finalists reminded me of just how challenging it can be to start a career in photography. Especially because equipment and training is expensive, and isn’t accessible for everyone. For this reason, in 2017, I’m going to be looking into what I can do to give back to the creative community. So if you’re in the early stages of your career, and you feel that you could use some business guidance or technical training, feel welcome to get in contact with us.

In comparison to this time last New Year, we have double as many weddings booked in for 2017! Which is beyond exciting. As the business grows we want to ensure our couples get the very best of us and our work. With that in mind we’ll be limiting the number of weddings that Tom and I shoot together, so if you have you hearts set on having both Tom & I as part of your day, do get in touch early to avoid disappointment!

A PERSONAL NOTE
On a personal level this year has had it’s challenges. But having had so many wonderful experiences and new projects has really helped to focus and motivate me. Whilst meeting and sharing some of the most special days with our wonderful couples has truly been humbling. I don’t often talk about how much our work enriches our lives, because our work is about our couples, not us. But it really is such an amazing journey to be able to take and I love that I get to share some of that with Tom.
That said, Summer 2017 will be the third anniversary of Amber Marie Photography being a full time business. And I have to thank each and every one of our clients for making that possible. The feedback we’ve had on our work and the time our couples have spent with this year has been better than we could have ever imagined. And we are beyond excited to see what 2017 brings!
